Digital mp3 player cigarette2/8/2024 ![]() ![]() First and foremost, it has an FM modulator, and a reasonably strong one at that. Part of the beauty of this unit is the versatility of connection. Happily, this little device is the little audio swiss army knife to solve the problem. My daily driver happens to pre-date the "infotainment" car audio systems that have become so prevalent even lacks an auxiliary audio input. It seems that it can overdrive the FM modulator.Īfter bailing on satellite radio and finding FM broadcast offerings still rather thin, I wanted to be able to listen to more of my favorite music. If you get distorted sound, find the setting for the playback volume and turn it down. I found that the playback volume level is settable and will cause distorted sound if it is set to high. This is a well built unit that works well. People tell me they can't tell I'm using a hands free unit. The microphone is clipped on the panel and works very well. I installed a power socket in the overhead control panel in my car and plugged the Soundfly into it. I would like to see a version of this that could be mounted on a surface rather than plugged into the auto power socket. The 2 gig SD cards are dirt cheap and don't take much storage space in the car. I have put together multiple cards that have different combinations of music on them, so if I want to listen to something else I can simply change the card. I too, like the ability to play music from a flash memory card. For obvious reasons you need to make sure your radio is on and the volume is turned up if you are not listening to music. ![]() When the Soundfly is first turned on or when it gets power, it will search for my phone and automatically connect. If they are not connected, pressing the call button will initiate the connection without making a call. I have found that when the phone moves out of range, the devices will not reconnect automatically when they are in range again. The red and green lights on the Soundfly buttons will be lit if the Soundfly and the phone are connected. I have an Iphone 3G and found it very easy to pair with the Soundfly. The transmitter is good enough that there are no pops or noises in the radio when nothing is playing, only silence. I use the Soundlfy with the FM transmitter set to 87.7 and my radio set the same. There are so many well written reviews that talk about the details of this device, I won't repeat everything. This works so well I ordered another for my wife to use in her car.
